Gothenburg Fringe 2019 may be just under five months away, but there are plenty of events and gatherings this spring, which we have a hand in and know you’ll love
Check out the list of events taking place in April and May, which will be updated whenever we have more information or dates to add.
Heaven & Hell
17 April – 5 May at Gathenhielmska Huset
Heaven & Hell is an immersive performance in the form of a recently established secret society with specific membership criteria. In a house of ancient lineage, with rooms and rooms of hand-painted tapestries, a new mythological language is formulated through their rituals.
By dint of dead poets and deathless poems, the members explore how they can understand themselves better and by what words they can pronounce – and bring forth – another future. During eight spring evenings, the doors are opened to strangers.
The performance is co-produced by Poste Restante and Skogen and performed in collaboration with one of Gothenburg Fringe’s true homes - Studio Gathenhielm. It is produced specifically for Gathenhielmska huset, which was a core venue for Fringe last year and a building that is listed due to its cultural significance.

Hemligt Vardagsrum
3 May at Gathenhielmska Huset
Hemligt Vardagsrum aims to generate intimate music concerts in the city of Gothenburg. We develop our concerts in historic locations, family homes and different places where you can share and enjoy music up close, meet people from different backgrounds and cultures and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere.
The first edition was in January in a living room for 40 people in Wieselgrensplatsen. The second edition will be in May 3 at Studio Gathenhielm. 3 artists, 25 minutes each in a magical and special space sharing their own compositions in the warmth of the living room of an old house.
Soon we will reveal the names of the participants of the next Hemligt Vardagsrum.

The Sea Widow - Film premiere
Date to be confirmed at Gathenhielmska Huset
2018’s Site-Specific award-winning show ‘The Sea Widow’ was a hit at the Fringe as it brought immersive theatre to the streets of Majorna and Zainab Arshad was on hand to capture it all on film, which will be shown for the first time at Gathenhielmska Huset on a date soon to be confirmed.
Set in and around the historical Gathenhielmska House, the audience is immersed in 1920's Gothenburg. Inspired by Sjömanstornet, "The Sea Widow" tells the story of a young woman overcoming the obstacles facing a single woman of the time after losing her fiancé at sea.
